Working with Zach has really helped me build confidence over the past few lessons, which was something that used to hold me back from pursuing my dream of becoming a singer. I no longer feel intimidated or uncomfortable when singing or trying new things. Even though we’ve only just started, I can already hear a significant change in my voice because I now know how to use it. I’m learning so much about singing and vocal training, and also how it connects to the body, well being, and emotions. I’m also picking up new skills like breath control, exploring different singing styles, and improving my stage presence and posture. What sets Zach apart as a teacher is his easygoing and supportive approach. He creates a safe space for learning, walks me through everything step by step, and uses different teaching methods depending on what works best for me. He always takes the time to acknowledge my progress, which is incredibly motivating. I’d definitely recommend him as a teacher. You can tell he really cares about his students and loves what he does. He’s calm, professional, and makes every lesson enjoyable!

As an adult student with no prior music experience and learning difficulties, I have found Zach to be an unfailingly patient and compassionate teacher. He breaks down lessons into smaller components and constantly adapts his teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each student, using visual aids and hands-on exercises. He celebrates small victories, no matter how minor, to build confidence and focuses on progress rather than perfection. He creates a non-judgmental environment for his students to reduce anxiety and encourages them to take up more space and grow their vocal presence. I would highly recommend Zach’s leadership and guidance to anyone, especially adult students beginning their musical journeys. Zach’s dedicated approach to teaching enables anyone to connect with their voice and develop their musicianship, regardless of age or skill level.

Studying under Zach has tremendously helped my confidence in my abilities. His approach made me feel comfortable and his reassurance made me feel more relaxed about my voice which really helped my ability and mental clarity producing my own music. This definitely translates to my performance as an artist. He has also helped me grow in terms of my knowledge of music.
I’ve not had other music teachers before him so I can’t speak to whether it was unique. But his cheerful spirit and positive nature is definitely valuable and is one I’d recommend to anyone interested in bettering their musical abilities and talent. I have recommended him as a teacher already and wish him the best in the future.

Without Zach’s lessons and encouragement I could have never been Rona Lisa Peretti in Putnam County Spelling B with Pine Tree Players and I am currently in rehearsals for Nunsense as Mother Superior with Front Row Centre in Calgary. This is a huge role with multiple monologues, lines, acting, dancing, solos, and being comedic at same time. A 5 person cast. Again, would have never dreamed that I could be cast much less be able to perform this way & it’s all thanks to your instruction!

Zach was a fantastic teacher—knowledgeable, intuitive, and incredibly supportive. After taking a 10-year break from singing, he helped me get my voice back in shape and regain my confidence. I learned so much about technique and discovered practical tools and tricks that helped me use my voice more freely and effectively.
What I appreciated most about Zach’s teaching approach is his ability to truly see and hear what’s going on. He notices everything and knows exactly how to guide you toward unlocking your voice. His lessons were the first stepping stone toward restarting my career in music.

Zach’s teaching has massively impacted my growth as both a vocalist and an artist. His guidance has helped me better understand the connection between the voice, performance, and mental well-being, and approach my craft with greater clarity and confidence. Our sessions often leave me feeling re-energized and encouraged, especially during times when I’ve felt discouraged about my progress.
What sets Zach apart is his ability to adapt his teaching to my evolving needs and goals. He meets me where I’m at while challenging me to aim higher, and I’ve learned how to use my voice in ways I didn’t even know were a thing! It’s a lot of fun.
Zach also leads by example—his commitment to his own artistic path makes it easy to trust and respect him as a teacher. I very much would (and have!) recommended him as a teacher. He is an exceptional educator who has inspired growth in me as an emerging artist and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Zach as a teacher tailors his lessons to how his students style of learning, while pushing his students out of their comfort zone in order for them to gain confidence in their abilities. While studying with Zach I have had the confidence to preform in front of his other students, and I am working on auditioning for the local theatre group in September.
Zach approaches to voice lessons his valuable and unique because he uses the teaching/techniques that he has learned from his teachers while incorporating techniques and lessons from his own life.
I would recommend Zach as a teacher because as a student you see how passionate he is about music and singing, and that passion rubs off onto his students. He is invested in all of his students not just in their growth as students but also how things are in their personal and professional development.

I have had vocal lessons before, but never like this. Zach Peterson zeroed in on my bad habits and my strengths. He is patient and encouraging. My confidence is rising and I am tackling songs I didn’t think that I’d ever, ever try. I can reach notes I didn’t think I was capable of reaching. Zach is also helping me with my piano skills so that I can accompany myself on piano while singing. In my past, I played piano for over 10 years, then didn’t play much for decades. I learned more in 30 minutes with Zach than I did from years of lessons. Zach Peterson is the best vocal coach I have ever come across. There should be no hesitation in choosing him to help you move forward in your music endeavours.
