Bio

Zach Ammon Peterson first found the world of theatre when, on a whim, he decided to audition for his high school’s production of Into The Woods. The experience changed his life and he has been performing ever since. This eventually led him to MacEwan University where he studied in their Theatre Arts musical theatre program. As a result, he performed on stages small and large around Alberta. Further expanding his horizons, Zach pursued a master’s degree in musical theatre performance from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Currently based in the UK, Zach is journeying to carve his niche in not only the acting realm, but also the world of music. He sings, plays guitar, and bass at a professional level, but has been known to dabble with drums and piano as well.

Reviewers have praised Zach’s performances, highlighting his rich and strong vocal talents, as well as his captivating stage presence. The richness of Zach’s character journeys have been praised by reviewers, whether it’s building Edward Bloom’s gregarious world, or more emotionally nuanced moments as Hedwig. Calgary Herald commended his finely calculated performance as Hedwig, noting his impressive vocal range and emotional depth.

Zach’s contribution to art extends even beyond the spotlight. Two of his full-length solo albums, “Into Dreams” and “Lens.” have gained acclaim for their musical sophistication and storytelling. Zach’s dedication to musical storytelling also shines through his work writing musicals. Of note, he wrote music and lyrics for his musical MOTHERSHIP which saw performances in the Calgary Fringe Festival. His current project, “The Dick Fairy,” combines his talents in writing libretto, music, and lyrics for a two-act musical comedy that promises to be a hoot!

Ultimately, Zach hopes to be able to inspire people through his art– whether that means encouraging them to create, or simply to feel or laugh. If anything, he just wants to make the world that little bit brighter.
